Bluefield State College will be coming to JMHS on November 21st. Students who showed interest in this school during the college fair will be allowed to meet with an admissions counselor.
WVU Tech will be visiting JMHS on Thursday, November 21st. Students interested in attending WVU Tech should sign up in the guidance office to speak with an admissions counselor.
JMHS will be participating in the WV Anti-Bullying Day by wearing blue on Wednesday, November 20th. Mavericks be sure to come to school in your best blue attire!

Mrs. Courtney Smith is coming to meet with seniors enrolled in Civics classes to discuss scholarship and resume writing tips. Scholarship applications will be distributed next week so we are excited to provide this opportunity to our seniors!

This scholarship contest is open to students in grades 10-12. Students seeking cultural experiences should apply for this scholarship program. It could be a great experience to travel abroad! The scholarship is a travel grant that provides funds for students toward a four to six week cultural exchange to Finland, Japan, Italy, Peru, or Australia during the summer of 2014. Two travel grants of $1500 will be awarded and perhaps more if funds are available. The contest entry deadline is November 15, 2013. Use the links below to access more information.
Scholarship Rules Scholarship Application First nine weeks academic accomplishments will be celebrated during this pep rally. We are proud of our Mavierck scholars! Additionally, we will recognize our senior athletes and their contributions to JMHS athletics.
Our JROTC students took 1st place overall in the recent drill competition at Greenbrier East High School. The squad placed 1st place in three of the four categories, and they earned 2nd place in the fourth. Hats off to this team! They did great!
