An admissions counselor from Concord University met with seniors interested in pursuing higher education at Concord University on Wednesday, November 12th. The Concord University mascot, Roar, came along for the visit. Students were introduced to the opportunities and programs offered at Concord. Interested students applied for free on Wednesday.
Scores from the October ASVAB test will be released to students on November 6th during Advisory. We are grateful to have Sergeant Boggs coming to JMHS to help interpret the scores with the students.
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recognize students in middle and high school grades who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Student volunteers must submit applications by November 4. Applications can be found online at http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit. State honorees will receive an unrestricted award of $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip with a parent to Washington D.C., May 2-5, 2015. Ten students will be selected as National Honorees, and they will receive $5,000 awards.
Just a reminder that school will not be in session on Tuesday, November 4th due to election day. Monroe County Schools will also be closed on Tuesday, November 11th for Veteran's Day. The schools will then recognize the Thanksgiving holiday Monday-Friday the week of November 24th.
