The West Virginia Department of Education is excited about its joint venture with the Marshall University Lewis College of Business and Brad D. Smith Schools of Business as we usher in another session of the West Virginia Governor’s School of Entrepreneurship (GSE). Marshall University is eager to welcome students to campus June 19 - July 9 for this free and exciting venture. Students will live in well-chaperoned residence halls on campus and have meals in the University dining hall. They will also have access to many opportunities provided on campus. We will host innovative students who believe they have an idea that may be valuable. Applicants should show a passion for creating a product or idea and possess a learning style that will thrive in a creative and innovative environment. We also need students with computer and programming skills, building skills, an engineering background, business skills, creative minds, and the willingness to take a chance to succeed. We do not expect a student to have all the skills listed; instead, these are the skills we hope to assemble on each team. We want you to create small businesses that will energize the economy of West Virginia, and we hope to foster that growth through fashioning an atmosphere of imagination, innovation, creativity, problem- solving, and FUN. This is an outstanding, free opportunity. Please share this information with your parents. If we can be of assistance, feel free to contact Sherry Keffer at [email protected], or Ray Lowther at [email protected]. You may also reach Mrs. Keffer by phone at 304-640-0988.
