Each year the West Virginia Virtual School (WVVS) has over 10,000 registrations for online courses. Many students who participate in WVVS courses continue their education in postsecondary programs. During the 2015-2016 school year, The Foundation for Blended and Online Learning implemented a scholarship program for students who have completed multiple blended or online courses and plan to continue their education. The WVVS was honored to have one of the first recipients of the scholarship program. This student was awarded a multiple year, $10,000 yearly scholarship to continue her studies at Marshall University.
The Foundation for Blended and Online Learning has now opened the application process for its 2017 Student Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides post-secondary financial support for graduates of high school programs that provide blended and online learning environments. Students who have completed a minimum of five (5) blended or online courses during their last two years of high school and plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs are eligible to apply. Deadline for applications is May 1, 2017. However, only the first 1,000 applications will be considered so please apply early. For additional information, you may contact the scholarship program directly at [email protected] (1-507-931-1682) or Gloria Burdette at [email protected]. |
