James Monroe High School celebrated College Application & Exploration Week November 6-9, hosting nine colleges throughout the week including West Virginia University, Marshall University, Fairmont State University, Concord University, Bluefield State College, Dabney S Lancaster Community College, New River Community and Technical College, Glenville State College and WVU Institute of Technology. The WV College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV) partnered with West Virginia Schools to increase awareness about opportunities through the WV College System including programs of study and scholarship opportunities. On average, the benefits of a four-year degree are equivalent to an investment that returns 15.2 percent annually-more than double the average return to stock market investments since 1950 (CFWV.com). Mavericks students competed in a college trivia contest during the week of November 6-9 to win gas cards. CFWV is West Virginia's free college and career planning website, offering help in planning, applying, and paying for college by visiting the College Foundation website at cfwv.com. Pictured Above:
