Kids’ Chance of West Virginia is a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to the sons and daughters of West Virginia residents who have been seriously, catastrophically or fatally injured in a work-related accident. The scholarship may be used to pursue a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited vocational or trade school, college or university in any field of study. Scholarship recipients are selected based upon their academic performance, evaluation of need for financial assistance, personal leadership and their demonstrated and potential contributions to their schools and communities. Each scholarship provides a minimum of $1,000 which may be used for tuition, room and board, books or other expenses.
Kids’ Chance of West Virginia scholarships are administered by the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation. Scholarships are for one year only; a renewal application must be filed for subsequent years. To apply, complete the foundation’s online scholarship application at www.tgkvf.org/scholar.htm. The application deadline is January 15. The foundation processes the applications for review and approval by the scholarship selection committee. Recipients will be notified by May 15. For more information about the application and selection process, contact Susan Hoover, the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, at 1(800)467-5909 or [email protected]. Comments are closed.
