Career Guidance is provided at James Monroe in both individual and group settings. All JMHS students are provided career guidance in group settings through score interpretation of their ASVAB test scores. Career Explorations lessons are completed in Advisory class each year. Students can speak with locally employed representatives from a variety of different fields at our annual college/career fair. The guidance department also hosts meetings with seniors about college/career plans in large groups. Students who would like individualized counseling are welcome to visit the guidance department for assistance. We do have both job shadowing and experiential learning programs at JMHS where students can work on-site with professionals to gain career insights. Several websites are listed below that may help students who are exploring different career fields.
