Dial In Option: (304) 553-7794, Conference ID: 273866556# JMHS senior Leah Deskins designed a positive bulletin board reminding students to give thanks throughout the season and the entire year. Mavericks students wrote items for which they are thankful on the leaves. Great job Leah!
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday season, students at James Monroe were invited to collaborate with their peers on a group photo highlighting their passion at JMHS and for what they are thankful. Members of Mrs. Julie Bradley's Early Childhood Education program are thankful for educational opportunities (including the ECE class!), campfires, long walks with nature, fun holidays, long hugs, normal school and sunshine, among other things. A number of Mrs. Bradley's students contributed to the project. Pictured below from left to right are Kora Wransky, Morgan Mills and Kayla Morrow showing off the final product. It has been a difficult year to say the least, but we still have many things for which to be thankful.
Attention students and parents, first nine weeks report cards were mailed home today. Our students worked hard to overcome the difficult challenges presented by remote learning. Keep up the good work Mavericks!
JMHS STUDENT IS NAMED TO COLLEGE BOARD NATIONAL RURAL AND SMALL TOWN RECOGNITION PROGRAM SCHOLAR11/17/2020
JMHS senior, Brendan Hale, has been identified as a College Board National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program Scholar. To be considered for this award, students must score in the top 2.5% of PSAT/NMSQT test takers who identify as one or more of the following: African American, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, or attend school in a rural area, or are from a small town. All juniors at James Monroe High School were provided the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT test in the fall of 2019. Congratulations Brendan!
Monroe County transitioned to yellow on the state Covid-19 map just in time for juniors to take the ASVAB. The test was administered on 11/10/2020 and 11/12/2020 allowing students in both the A day and B day groups the opportunity to test. All juniors and interested seniors were invited to test. Over 60% of the junior class was able to participate. Scores should be in some time next month, at which time they will be reviewed with students.
