The purpose of the Albert Yanni Scholarship Program is to provide incentives, high expectations and encouragement for talented career and technical students to pursue advanced education and training related to their technical disciplines. The West Virginia Pumpkin Festival is offering three scholarships to current seniors entering a public West Virginia college or university in the fall of 2016. The amount of each scholarship is $2,000. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or above and must have completed the required community service. The West Virginia Association of Conservation Districts awards nine $500 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan on majoring in an agriculture related field. Students must submit applications to their Conservation District Office by the first Monday in March. Administrative Officers forward applications to the Chairman of the Conservation Districts Education Committee by the first Monday in April. Recipients will be notified in May. Life Happens sponsors the annual Life Lessons Scholarship Program for college students and college-bound high school seniors. Over a million dollars in college scholarships have been awarded over the years. The total of scholarships for the 2016 Program is $250,000, and will be allocated in the following amounts:
The Mission West Virginia Scholarship Program will provide at least two scholarships this year to help youth who experienced a foster care placement for 12 months OR youth who had a parent incarcerated for 12 months during their childhood. The scholarship will help pay for tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies, transportation or computers. Applications are due March 1. Recipients will be notified by April 15. The Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation (ALEF) recruits and educates young men and women who are academically qualified, hard-working and assertive, but who would otherwise find college financially challenging. Our goal is to develop these
