The 2015 West Virginia PTA Scholarship is now live and all public high school seniors in West Virginia may apply! Each year West Virginia PTA awards several $500 scholarships to deserving graduates from around the state. The deadline for this year’s scholarship is December 31, 2014. The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are non-renewable scholarships created to recognize young people who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative. The scholarships are valued between $1,000 and $15,000 and are merit-based. Applicants should be seniors who own/operate an established business. The application deadline is December 18th. All graduating seniors with a 2.5 or higher are eligible for this $50,000 scholarship. Students must apply online by December 15, 2014. Consideration will be given to each applicant's academic record (50%) and participation in school and community activities (50%). The application window opens on October 15. Only the first 50,000 applications will be processed so APPLY NOW!

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2014 competition. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. The Most Valuable Student scholarship deadline is December 5, 2014. Applications must be submitted to the Lewisburg Elks Lodge. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree. For more information visit the Elks National Foundation website.
On December 2 during Advisory, the guidance office will be reviewing all local scholarships, requirements and deadlines with seniors. Students should come prepared with any questions they would like answered. The deadline for all local scholarship applications in February 14, unless otherwise noted on Edline.
