Each year, the Education Scholarship Foundation awards $1,000 scholarships. A combination of weighted criteria is used in the selection process: 40% financial need; 40% academic achievement; and 20% personal statement. Funds can be applied towards tuition, student fees, room and board, or textbooks, and are sent directly to educational institutions. Application deadline is April 1st.

The West Virginia Association of Orthopedic Executives (WVAOE) established the Joshua Tuck Scholarship in 2018 to help support a student studying healthcare management. We’re asking that you share this information with incoming students majoring in healthcare administration or healthcare management.
At the time of his death in 2017, Josh was the practice manager for the Charleston Area Medical Center Department of Orthopedic Surgery; in addition, he was vice president of WVAOE. The Joshua Tuck Scholarship has been created specifically to reward the outstanding scholastic achievements of high school seniors who plan to enter the healthcare management field. While federal law prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities, we still face barriers every day. The essay topic this year is: “How (insert name of famous person) Has Influenced Me” Pick a famous person with a disability that was born prior to 1970. Discuss the individual, his or her disability, and career and explain how his or her contributions have influenced you personally and your plans for the future. The top award will be presented to the state winner, and awards may be presented to first-place and secondplace entries from six Districts of our state. The awards are as follows: State Winner $3,250 District First Place $1,750 District Second Place $1,000 The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services has generously provided funding for all awards. For more than 79 years, the WVU Alumni Association’s Loyalty Permanent Endowment Fund (LPEF) has helped more than 4,500 deserving students realize their dreams at WVU. Funded entirely from unsolicited private donations, the LPEF is a contributing source of funds to the WVU Scholars Program. The LPEF was established in 1937 by the WVU Alumni Association and has more than $12 million in assets.
The LPEF supports a number of individual scholarships. Each year, approximately 400 scholarships will be awarded through the LPEF to deserving students, including valedictorians, student body presidents and other deserving Mountaineers. Application deadline is March 1st. Who is eligible to be considered for a Loyalty Permanent Endowment Fund Scholarship? Students eligible for the LPEF scholarship must: Demonstrate a financial need; Be in adequate academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 2.75; Demonstrate good citizenship, as outlined in his/her extracurricular activities; and Legally reside in West Virginia. It now features a universal approach for applicants. They will answer some basic or common questions and from their answers they will be directed to other scholarship opportunities for which they are eligible. They will not complete another application. But will have the opportunity to simply answer supplemental questions. They choose whether to answer these queries or to dismiss. They will be completing only 1 application.

What Happens When You Apply The Beckley Area Foundation provides oversight for scholarship funds established by individuals, firms and organizations wishing to assist students in furthering their education. Many of the scholarships managed by BAF are designated for use by students pursuing a particular field of study or attending a specific school. Additionally, there are scholarships that can be used at any college for graduates. While the majority of scholarships benefit Raleigh County applicants there are others designated for Fayette, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, Webster, and Wyoming students. BAF’s 2022 application process is using a ‘universal approach’. This feature allows students’ to be directed to multiple scholarship opportunities, for which they are eligible, while completing only one common application.
