Eligibility Requirements: 1.) The student and/or their parent or legal guardian must be a member in good standing at PWVFCU 2.) Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, or a college student (rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior) at a college or university for the 2016-2017 school years. 3.) Applicant must have a minimum of 2.75 cumulative grade point average on a 4.00 scale. 4.) The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program will provide full tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, use of a laptop, printer, and software while on scholarship and room and board each year for 4 years to scholarship winners. Students must be seeking a 4-year degree in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related fields. The application deadline is April 11. This scholarship contest is open to all high school seniors planning to begin a program of higher education in the fall of 2015. This scholarship is not based on financial need, and it will be paid directly to the institution where the recipient is attending. The FOCLA has a scholarship for students wishing to attend a non-traditional institution. The student must be able to demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship. The student must have a mother, father, step-mother, step-father, sister, brother, grandmother or grandfather who has been employed, or is currently employed in a coal-related industry. The WV Woman's Club is offering a $1000 scholarship to a male or female senior who has been a WV resident for the past three years. The Ruritan National Foundation Educational Grant Fund is a program established to assist young men and women secure formal training beyond high school. Students must be recommended for the award by two active Ruritan Club members in order to apply. Grants are awarded based on financial need, character, scholarship, academic promise and desire by the applicant for further education and training. The application deadline is April 1.
