The Beckley Area Foundation provides oversight for scholarship funds established by individuals, firms and organizations wishing to assist students in furthering their education. Many of the scholarships managed by BAF are designated for use by students pursuing a particular field of study or attending a specific school. Additionally, there are scholarships that can be used at any college for graduates. While the majority of scholarships benefit Raleigh County applicants there are others designated for Fayette, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, Webster, and Wyoming students.
BAF’s application process is using a ‘universal approach’. This feature allows the applicant to be directed to multiple scholarship opportunities, for which they are eligible, while completing only one common application. Following the creation of an account you will click the Apply button for the Universe, then complete the common questions on the Scholarship Application 2021 form. The next page will be a confirmation message identifying the scholarship opportunities for which you are eligible to apply, and which scholarships require answering supplemental questions. You will need to review your additional scholarship opportunities, then select and complete supplemental questions for the opportunities you have chosen to pursue. A separate application will be created automatically in the system for each opportunity to which you have chosen to apply. On January 15th, the online scholarship applications will be available. Deadlines matter -- plan to meet early deadlines, if applicable. For more information and to apply, visit https://www.bafwv.org/how-to-apply.html. |
