Registration for our 2016 Experience Pharmacy Bootcamp is now open! The camp will take place June 19-22, 2018 on the University of Charleston campus in Charleston, WV. Some of the week’s events will include hands-on simulations, compounding, and IV lab experiences, as well as sessions on the history of pharmacy, medicinal plants, pharmaceutical career options, mock interviewing, personal statement review/preparation, and more!
The camp is a prime opportunity to gain insight and preparation for that next step toward a future in pharmacy. Whether students are interested in learning more about a pharmacy career as a whole, or need help preparing for the application process, the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy ExRx Boot camp will prove to be a worthwhile experience. Cost for the four-day camp is ONLY $99.00 per student, and includes meals, lodging, linens, towels, as well all activities and materials. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. If you would like to register, or are interested in receiving more information, please contact Ms. Jamie Bero at [email protected], or call (304)720–6685. Application materials are also available online at: www.ucwv.edu/pharmacy. Camp STEM is a weeklong exploration of careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Sponsored by DOW, Camp STEM will be held June 17 – 22, 2018.
Camp STEM brings students to WVU Tech’s campus in Beckley, West Virginia for college-level STEM instruction. Students can attend courses in a variety of STEM fields, such as computer science, chemistry, automotive engineering, electrical engineering and forensic science. WVU Tech professors will guide them through experiments, provide lectures and give demonstrations. Outside the classroom, students will work in teams on a robotics project, attend guest lectures by STEM professionals and embark on fields trips. The cost for this camp is $350 per camper, but full and partial need-based scholarships are available. At Camp STEM, students will experience campus life by living in our residence halls, eating in WVU Tech’s Bears Den dining hall and relaxing in one of our campus recreation facilities. Students are supervised by WVU Tech student counselors, who are upper-classmen studying STEM disciplines. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2018. |
